WHO WE ARE

What We Believe

  • The Bible: The entire Bible is inspired by God, without error and the authority on which we base our faith, conduct and behavior. (2 Timothy 3: 15-7)
  • God: There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. (Mark 12: 29; 1 John 5: 7-8)
  • Jesus Christ: Jesus died on the cross and shed His blood for our sins. We believe that salvation is found by placing our faith in what Jesus did for us on the cross. We believe Jesus rose from the dead and is coming again.
  • Holy Spirit: He is at work in the world helping unbelievers become aware of their need for Jesus. He also lives within every believer, providing them with power for life and service. (John 15: 26; John 6: 63; John 14: 16-18; Luke 24: 49; Acts 1:8)
  • Man: Man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore is separated from God. (Genesis 1: 27; Romans 3: 23, Titus 3:5)
  • Salvation: Salvation is through Jesus Christ and Him alone. It is freely offered to all men but is conditional upon repentance and faith in Christ. (Matthew 1: 21; Acts 4: 12; John 3: 16; Acts 3: 19; Romans 10: 9)
  • Gifts of the Spirit: We believe that the gifts and special abilities of the Holy Spirit are available and given to every believer. (1 Corinthians 12: 1-31)
  • The Church: The church is God's primary way to accomplish His purposes on earth today. (Matthew 16: 18; Matthew 28: 19-20; Hebrews 10: 25)
  • Water Baptism and Communion: Water baptism is the immersion of the believer in water identifying them with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Communion or The Lord's Supper is a covenant meal for believers with the bread representing the body of the Lord Jesus Christ and the cup representing the new covenant of His blood. (Acts 2: 38; Romans 6: 3-6; 1 Corinthians 11: 23-25)
  • Eternity: There is a heaven and hell and that Jesus will return to judge the earth and to establish his eternal kingdom. (Colossians 3: 1; Mark 9: 43-48)
